The World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH) invites you to help colleagues from lower-resource settings participate in the WAIMH 2026 World Congress in Toronto, Canada (2-6 October 2026).

Introduction

WAIMH has made it its goal to be truly multinational and culturally diverse. The majority of infants live in lower-resource settings, and clinicians and researchers serving their needs have less resources for sharing the current knowledge and skills of infant mental health with colleagues from other countries.

The Sponsor a Delegate program aims to provide more colleagues from lower-resource settings with a chance to attend the World Congress.

Key Features

Delegates from Low-Income (LIC), Lower-Middle-Income (LMC), and Upper-Middle-Income (UMC) countries can be sponsored by peers from High-Income countries – including individual infant mental health professionals, WAIMH Affiliate associations, and companies.

Sponsored delegates will have the opportunity to participate in the Congress, learn about new scientific and clinical practices in infant mental health, share their own expertise, and meet colleagues working internationally in the field.

How to Donate

  • If you’re attending the Congress: You can choose the amount you wish to donate in the Congress registration portal and make your contribution when you register. The registration opens on 14 November 2025.
  • If you’re not attending the Congress: You can make your contribution through the WAIMH website.

If you prefer to donate via bank transfer or wish to make a larger contribution, please contact the WAIMH Office at office@waimh.org.

How to Apply for the Scholarship

Delegates from LIC, LMC, and UMC countries, who have submitted an abstract to the Congress, are eligible to apply for the scholarship by completing the application form. To check your country’s classification, please refer to the World Bank country list.

Applications due: Friday, 30 January 2026 at 14:00 (GMT).

Details of what the scholarship includes, as well as the number of applicants we can select this time, will be finalized by March 2026. Typically, the scholarship has helped cover costs such as conference registration, travel, and/or accommodation.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of March 2026, following the abstract acceptance process. To be eligible for the scholarship, your abstract must be accepted by the Scientific Program Committee. Please also remember to apply for your visa as soon as you’re accepted. You can also request an invitation letter once you’ve been accepted.

Note: Scholarship funds are reimbursed after attendance at the Congress (e.g., travel and/or accommodation costs are refunded post-event).

For more information, please contact the WAIMH Central Office directly at office@waimh.org.
