The Board of Directors manages the business of the association and exercises all corporate powers. You can see the composition of the current Board of Directors on the WAIMH website. There you will also find the Bylaws of the association. Article seven of the Bylaws describes the purpose, power, election process, meetings and actions of the Board of Directors.

Astrid Berg
Astrid Berg is a Psychiatrist, Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist as well as a Jungian Analyst. She is an Emerita Professor at the University of Cape Town and Professor Extraordinary at the Stellenbosch University. She consults to and teaches at the Parent-Infant Mental Health Services and Child Psychiatry Divisions at Stellenbosch University, and is the Convenor of the newly established M Phil degree in Infant Mental Health at Stellenbosch University.

Holly Brophy-Herb
Holly Brophy-Herb, professor and IMH-Level IV endorsed, Michigan State University-USA, examines emotion socialization practices and toddlers’ social-emotional development. Her community-based research and training initiatives have resulted in parenting/caregiving curriculum development and the establishment of the Michigan Infant/Toddler Research Exchange, a consortium of infancy researchers focused on identifying evidence-based early intervention practices. She is a core collaborator in national initiatives to articulate competencies for infant/toddler workforce preparation and is a member of the Network of Infant/Toddler Researchers. Having served on the Michigan-AIMH board and as Associate IMHJ Editor, she hopes to advance further IMH initiatives as a WAIMH board member.

Nicole Letourneau
Nicole Letourneau RN PhD FCAHS authored Scientific Parenting: What Science Reveals About Parental Influence (2013; Dundurn) and ~140 peer-reviewed publications. She is University of Calgary Professor in Nursing and Medicine (Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Community Health Sciences) and Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation Chair in Parent-Infant Mental Health in Canada. She studies parenting, attachment and child development affected by maternal depression, family violence, and other stressors (see CHILDStudies.ca). She has attained over $49 million in research funding, with over $9 million as lead. She has held national and provincial board leadership roles, including Governor of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (2007-14) Check her out on Wikipedia.

Julie Stone
Julie is an infant psychiatrist. She offers a wealth of professional experience and a dedication to the health and well-being of the world’s children. It is her privilege to be a Churchill Fellow and Australia’s first Zero-to-Three Fellow, enabling wide collaboration with and learning from leaders in infant mental health practice all over the world. Julie is passionate, energetic and focussed. She wants to give-back through WAIMH and other projects where mental health practitioners from high, middle and low income countries form partnerships to work together to action WAIMH’s vision for the rights of all infants.
